Everything has returned to normal here on Sanibel....
and our "normal" is pretty darn wonderful!
All of my house guests have gone back to their normal routines. Like getting my morning greeting from the tree frog that looks in my kitchen window.
I was so hoping for a fun shelling adventure...
...and was thrilled to see this on the beach...
Yippee! It was a great day for beachcombing!!!
This big guy was having fun sifting through the shells too.
My day at the beach yielded tremendous finds!
I filled the bike baskets to the brim.
What fun indeed...
There were some very special shells...
...I also found some gnarled driftwood
and a few weathered corks.
There were some great old floats tattered by the sea
and tossed onto the shore.
But my favorite finds were this old glass bottle and a few chunks of pale green sea glass...
My shelling adventure was even better than I had hoped!
Now I can't wait to find homes for all my truly special treasures.
It has been so beautiful here...
I hope you are enjoying your surroundings too!
Wow, those are impressive!

Hi Melinda! I just read your feature in the August issue of Romantic Homes. Congratulations! I truly enjoyed living vicariously through your words on the pages and seeing the photos of your beautiful home. My husband and I have vacationed on Sanibel Island for over 25 years and still find our way there each springtime for a couple of weeks on our beloved little island. We've come to call it our "second home". Our dream is to spend our winters there eventually as close to the water as we can be. I will definitely have to look you up next March when we're down there, visit your shop, and meet you! You're only the 2nd blogger I know who lives on Sanibel!
ReplyDeleteI added your blog to my sidebar because I certainly don't want to miss out on any happenings or photos of Sanibel. Congrats on your new shop. You truly are living a dreamy life, girl! ♥
xoxo laurie
